    Question Fever at 6wks preg

    Hey everyone
Just wondering if any mums out there had a virus with a fever at about the 6 week mark and ended up delivering a healthy child?
I could really do with some reassurance. I dont know how high my temp got cos I was away with no thermometer, but the next night when I was home it got to 38.3.

    Thanks!

I had an ear infection and head cold at 10 weeks. As you can see DD is 8 months old.

My GP said I did the right thing going to see her, but take some panadol to reduce your fever and go and see your GP if you're worried.

    Thanks MummaSue
Yeah I did see GP yesterday, and I took panadol quickly the second night, but I hadn't the first night cos I didnt know if it was a fever or not (I feel so stupid, should have taken it anyway)

    Hi Lozzy,

I'm sorry that I have no advice but I just wanted to say congrats on being UTD again! If you don't remember, we were in the Nov BB group together. Best of luck for this pregnancy!

    I had fevers of 39 - 40 for 2 - 3 days when I was 6 weeks preg and DS2 is now 11 months old.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I had an awful fever (chills, cold-sweats, crazy-dreams etc.) early in my pregnancy with my now very healthy and robust DD. Hope it passes soon for you Hun and in the meanwhile, try not to stress yourself out too much. xox

Thankyou feeb and santosha! It makes me feel so much better to hear that your babies are fine! I know its just all statistics and stuff, but that is very reassuring. Were you guys stressing about it at the time? I think I just read too much.

I'm feeling a lot better now thanks (hard to tell if nausea and stomach pain is residual virus or just m/s!)

and thanks Chody! Wow you're so close now, congrats, so exciting!

Yup, I stressed about it. And every other little twinge... or lack of twinges... or thing I ate.... or lack of nausea... I was a total STRESSHEAD for the first 15 weeks or so and then started to feel safer. I'd had a previous m/c, and as you know, that adds to the over-analysing and worry. I freaked out about stomach pains so much I went for a scan at 7 weeks convinced that I was miscarrying, only to see a beautiful little heart-beat. I totally understand the tendency to stress but try to focus on fun stuff - like a name for your beautiful baby!
